Privacy Policy

Chiply does not require an account. Your planner lives on your phone. This policy explains the limited data that leaves your device and why.
1. Data stored on your device
Your classes, assignments, plans, reminders, settings and related planner data are stored on your device. If iCloud Backup is on for this iPhone, that backup may include them. You can export a backup or CSV from Settings, and you can erase everything with Settings, Your Data, Delete All Data.
2. A random app ID
On first launch the App creates a random identifier that is not linked to your name, email or phone. It is used to restore purchases and to connect the services below. It is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
3. Services we use
- Purchases (RevenueCat, Apple): to process and restore purchases, we and RevenueCat receive purchase and subscription status, product, price, country and the random app ID. Payment details are handled by Apple and never reach us. After Delete All Data, custom attributes on the RevenueCat profile are reset; purchase history for that anonymous profile may remain so Restore and refunds still work (disclosed in plan.md / events.json).
- Usage analytics (Amplitude): only if you allow Product analytics in the App's privacy choices, we record how the App is used with the random app ID, to improve the App. We never include your assignment titles or class names. You can turn this off in Settings, Privacy Controls. Delete All Data asks us to delete the Amplitude user for that ID.
- Crash reports (Sentry): only if you allow Crash reports, technical crash data is sent to help us fix bugs.
- AI planning (Anthropic, through our Cloudflare Worker): only after you allow AI planning. When you use AI planning, Chiply sends the assignment title, class name and due dates to our server, where Anthropic processes them into steps. That data is not used to train AI models or for ads. Teacher, room and your other data never leave this device. The Worker does not keep full payloads in persistent logs; metadata retention is up to 30 days. AI request reports you submit may be stored up to 90 days and are deleted with Delete All Data.
4. Children and teens
The App uses Apple's age range feature. If a user is under 13, purchases, analytics, crash reporting and AI features are turned off (Limited mode). For some teen age bands, analytics and crash reporting stay off and locked on this device. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond what is needed to keep Limited mode on.
5. Sharing and selling
We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for advertising. There are no ads in the App. Service providers above process data only to provide their services to us.
6. Retention and deletion
Delete All Data erases data on your device (including local database and most settings, while keeping the random app ID) and asks our Worker to delete server records linked to that ID (usage meters, AI reports, RevenueCat custom attributes reset, Amplitude user deletion). Analytics and crash data are kept only as long as needed to improve the App and are then deleted under the providers' retention settings. To ask about or delete your data, contact us.
